Hanover Twp

The name derives from the House of Hanover to whom King George I of Great Britain belonged to. It originally encompassed a large territory (even parts of Sussex and Warren) and was later greatly reduced. It still includes Cedar Knolls and Whippany. It’s known for a great school system, lower property taxes, wonderful parks, a municipal pool, the Morris county library and the Whippany Railway Museum. It is home to the New York Red Bull U23 soccer training facilities and to the Junior Pee Wee Division of Youth Football 2017 National Champions. Fun fact – the first long distance television transmission via wire was broadcast here in 1927!
